One of our local bike shops (BikesPlus) has a late afternoon ride starting at 6:30 pm each Tuesday. It was approximately 18 miles, and we did it in about 1 hour 20 minutes at an average speed of 13.5 miles per hour. Pretty good for a couple of newbies.<br /><br />Our friend, and awesome cyclist, Bill McDonald hung with us and helped us keep a good pace and a lookout for traffic. I began to cycle about 10 years ago, but I got distracted with college, career, etc... so now I am back into it, and this time with my wife.<br /><br />I pulled out my Cannondale R300 (CAAD2 Aluminum frame) from the<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Rh8iLkF4Hqw/R0xmlS2ENvI/AAAAAAAAALc/nlxmwVtvgzg/s1600-h/Cannondale_Bianchi_02.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Rh8iLkF4Hqw/R0xmlS2ENvI/AAAAAAAAALc/nlxmwVtvgzg/s200/Cannondale_Bianchi_02.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5137594065822693106" border="0" /></a> attic after stashing it there 7 years ago... and I also bought a Scott Scale 70 Mountain Bike so I can try to kill myself out on the trails. MTB'ing is not my favorite thing in the world, but the exercise is good and I have a bunch of buddies that do it... so it is also a social thing, too.<br /><br />Claudia refuses to do off-road riding (I don't blame her), so we got her a<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_Rh8iLkF4Hqw/R0xmsC2ENwI/AAAAAAAAALk/2kDdEaZUjj8/s1600-h/MTB_Scale_70.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_Rh8iLkF4Hqw/R0xmsC2ENwI/AAAAAAAAALk/2kDdEaZUjj8/s200/MTB_Scale_70.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5137594181786810114" border="0" /></a> Bianchi Brava. This is an excellent bike for her to start with, and she rides it well.
